The goal of this two-day conference is to problematize and shed light on the constitution, modification and the specificities of the code of romantic love in South Slavic literatures (Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian) from different perspectives.

The Centre is proud to be one of the co-organizers - together with the host, Institute for Slavic Studies of the University of Vienna, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb, and the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad - of the conference dedicated to the concept of romantic love and evolution of its code(s) in South Slavic literatures. Scholars whose research ranges from late medieval up to 20th-century literature will discuss a broad selection of topics, such as representation of the loving other, gender and love, issues of love and power, versions and specificities of love narratives, and others.
